[Research Survey] Cloud Forensics Practices, Challenges, and Maturity

Dear DFRWS community,

I am a PhD student at the University of Lausanne (School of Criminal Justice), under the supervision of Professor Thomas Souvignet, working on a study of cloud forensics practices, challenges, and maturity in law enforcement and DFIR contexts. Some of you may have seen a brief presentation of this project during my lightning talk at DFRWS EU 2026.

As cloud services are increasingly involved in digital investigations, the forensic community continues to face challenges related to access, acquisition, analysis, and cooperation with cloud service providers. This study aims to collect perspectives from law enforcement and DFIR practitioners who have handled cloud-related cases in the last three years.

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and is fully anonymous.
