Dear DFRWS Community,
The Board of Directors extends heartfelt thanks to each of you for your continued contributions to the DFRWS community. Your support and engagement are what make this community thrive.
We are particularly thankful to Golden Richard and Vassil Roussev for their many years serving on the Board. They have stepped down to focus on other priorities, and we are delighted to welcome Frank Breitinger, Barbara Guttman, and Mark Scanlon to the Board.
2024 was a busy year for DFRWS, with three successful conferences in Baton Rouge, Zaragoza, and Brisbane. Throughout 2025, video recordings will be released on the DFRWS YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@DFRWS/videos).

2024 was a busy year for DFRWS, with three successful conferences in Baton Rouge, Zaragoza, and Brisbane. Throughout 2025, video recordings will be released on the DFRWS YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@DFRWS/videos).
There has been a resurgence of in-person participation in DFRWS conferences, almost back to pre-pandemic levels. At the same time, our success with providing high quality online participation has developed into having satellite sites, hosted by a sponsoring institution that plans an event which incorporates a portion of the DFRWS conference stream, allowing a group of participants to join the conference in their region. These satellite sites increase opportunities for new members of the DFRWS community to meet and exchange knowledge.
The DFIR Review continues to grow, bringing together practitioners in the field to provide community-reviewed applied research and testing in digital forensics and incident response. This year articles from DFIR Review were cited in multiple court proceedings and we are happy to continue to meet this requirement for the community of peer review of blogs.
In July 2025, we will be celebrating the 25th year of DFRWS in Chicago--thanks to 25 years of support from researchers, practitioners, sponsors, presenters, attendees, volunteers, rodeo and challenge participants, and more.
We are also excited to announce the inaugural Digital Forensics Doctoral Symposium (DFDS), organised by DFRWS EU this year in Brno.
Last but not least, We're looking forward to seeing people in Seoul for DFRWS APAC 2025!
