Hello everyone,

Using the Google Group so all parties may see the comments, as one or two may have been missed.

First, as the deadline for revisions is May 19th, it would be helpful to send the author their resolution co-sponsor list now.

Next, there has been much discussion about our process, specifically, can the body create a standing committee using a resolution?

There appear to be leaders, including officers on the current excom, telling DPCA voters they should vote down 2025 resolutions because “the resolutions process is not the right venue for creating committees, especially standing committees”. If standing committees are deemed inappropriate for the resolutions process, it may be a new rule... Historically, the body has attempted to use the resolutions process. This committee must issue a public statement before the deadline of 5/19. I encourage this committee to speak to each author seeking to create a committee via this year's resolutions process as soon as possible.

I welcome all committee members to contact me regarding resolution 22, making this a "special" versus "standing" committee.

Thank you,
Liz Blackbourn
