Hi everyone,
First - Thank you to all of you who have submitted your projects so far! I have received your emails and am working through responding to you individually. If you have not received any feedback from your submissions, I apologize for the delay and am working to send those out. I understand if you need to wait for feedback before moving on to the next project.
To clarify, the assignments are the tasks that lead to a project - articles, videos, brief activities. Projects are the only items that are "due" and require you to submit. I will be hosting open office hours this Wednesday from 8 pm to 9 pm ET for those who would like to come and share, discuss, or ask questions about the content so far. Thank you to everyone who has shared feedback each week!
This week, we'll unpack the concept of intersectionality, understanding how various social identities intersect and influence access and experiences in outdoor spaces. There is no live session this week. Instead, you will complete a self-paced module with guided prompts and worksheets. You are not required to submit or share the worksheets, but they will help inform your project for Week 3.
Action Steps for This Week:
Dive into the self-paced module: Explore the materials on intersectionality and the historical context of DEI in the outdoors.
Interview Prep: Choose three organizations you'd like to interview for your Week 5 project. Consider their focus on DEI initiatives and how they might provide valuable insights for your work.
Submit your reflection project by Sunday, February 11th.
Bonus Discussion (Optional):
Reply to the thread - What values from our discussion last week have you brought back to your workspace or community? Which values spoke to you the most?
See you all in Week 4!
Cheers,
Rachel
