What happened to Dart 2.8.0? Why skip that?

2.8.0 contained an unintentional breaking change that was discovered after the final RCs had already been built. This was fixed by https://dart.googlesource.com/sdk/+/c61d0c1d5d3daa7bd2fd096619669f452c5ece64. Because the 2.8.0 release already was released on Flutter's beta channel, we decided that the safest option was to skip 2.8.0 and go straight for 2.8.1. Otherwise, there would've been two different 2.8.0s out in the wild.

Where is the best place to post if I come across a problem with dart2native in the 2.8.1 SDK release?

Oh interesting, thanks. Did that breaking change result in a change in how testing is done before releasing it to Flutter's beta channel or to any third-party to reduce something like this happening again?

There is no change in testing strategy per se, however a regression test was added for this particular issue
