I realize that work on angular2 and AtScript has begun, and a unified code-base will be really great, etc, but as someone who's invested heavily in angular.dart 1.x, I'm feeling a bit neglected.  There have been some post-1.0 commits that address some important issues, but no actual releases.  The build is currently failing and the repo has seen zero activity lately.  I've posted to the angular.dart mailing list and the core devs no longer seem to be responding there.  I'm starting to worry that I invested in something that is now unsupported.

Well, as you said, they aren't really working on it at the moment. The last comment i read from misko about angulardart was to keep sticking to the current version until angular2 comes out, whenever that will be. Apparently the api will be more or less the same to the dart version, so porting won't be that tricky.

Right, but I would hope they would continue to support it with maintenance releases, as they've stated they would.  As it stands, many of the dependencies required by the current release are pretty out of date and causing issues.  I guess what I'm looking for is official word on what level of support we can expect for the angular.dart v1.  It's starting to feel like we're being hung out to dry.

A bunch of people have been out on holidays for the past few weeks. I'll try to get someone from the angular team to comment here on their plans for v1.

Hi all,

Apologies for the delay in my reply. I'm the maintainer for Angular Dart. We'll have a maintenance release coming this week and have updated docs to address some common issues we've seen in 1.0 -- several of these are problems we're trying to solve in a more comprehensive way in angular 2.

You'll continue to see maintenance updates to Angular Dart 1.x as needed, but as Benjamin correctly notes, our large development changes and improvements from here on are part of the Angular 2 effort, which will fully support Dart. We'll make sure we have a clear migration path for you when we get there.

You can follow the Angular 2 work on github here https://github.com/angular/angular/

Hi Naomi, thanks again for the update.

I think AngularDart is much closer to Angular2 than AngularJS is.

In the AngularDart 1.x releases you're referring to, will you be gradually introducing Angular2 features wherever possible?

@Grant

It sounded like the plan was to do little with angular dart 1.0 mostly because 2.0 was supposed to be compatible with dart and pretty similar to angular dart 1.0.  At least we should have an easier transition to angular 2.0 than the angularjs guys will.

we are looking forward to AngularDart 2.0 release, hopefully with some simple examples as in 1.s, especially with its router. An example with simple docker container as a micro service is perfect.
