Mark Haskell WB9UJS is a Silent Key

To All BARS Members,

It grieves me to tell you that Mark Haskell WB9UJS is a Silent Key. After an extended illness, he took his last breath yesterday, October 17th, just after 4 pm.

Mark was a stalwart member of BARS. He served as Secretary from 2012 to 2015 and he was editor of our "Antenna" Newsletter for 13 years. Please keep his sister Cynthia Cherry, his nephew Brian, and his other family members in your prayers. I will forward funeral details as they become available. 

I know many of us have fond memories of Mark and his wife Doris WB9VDT (also a Silent Key two years ago). I've included a photo below of Mark and Doris. Doris served as President of BARS from 2004 to 2016. Doris also was Net Control for the Monday night BARS 2 meter net for many years. She always closed the net with:

"Goodnight everybody, and may God bless each and every one of you."

Both of them were such wonderful and giving people who touched so many lives. I know we will miss them.

The Memorial Service for Mark Haskell will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 30th at Arise Church, 

401 Pauls Drive, Brandon, FL 33511.
