Did you know that “when students feel able to meet parent expectations, they are less likely to be worried and stressed about their schoolwork and less likely to suffer from physical symptoms of stress” (www.challengesuccess.org)? As we begin a new year, consider the following suggestions from Challenge Success at Stanford University:

  1. Define success on your terms

  2. Avoid over-scheduling

  3. Love your children unconditionally

  4. Discipline and set limits

  5. Allow teens to develop on their own and make mistakes

  6. Build responsibility

  7. Unplug

  8. Ease performance pressure

  9. Debunk college myths
