Which "spacewar" is the one in the article. I ask because it is clearly not POLY SPACEWAR [but few things are] yet this is to my reckoning NOT the silly little SPACEWAR that is part of the DEMO-12 programs that seem to be a topic of conversation.]
Eventually, I will get POLY SPACEWAR fully recovered and all can judge for themselves.
Also, I think the toy SPACEWAR doesn't even require EAE.
Since you people have an academic interest in the PDP-12 and thus the LINC instruction set, can someone explain to me EXACTLY what the LINC instruction MUL does when the I bit is set. [A knee-jerk response of "inverse multiply" is not what I want to hear. I want a mathematically expanded explanation of what that does. I don't know of any program that ever used it [perhaps because no one else knows what it does either!].
PDP-8 EAE has divide as well as multiply, but the LINC instruction set has MUL and MUL I. Can someone explain this to me? [It's an old bugaboo that has plagued me since 1970.
