Becoming Our Whole Selves

In Hinduism, Shakti is the Divine Feminine, the primordial cosmic energy that animates the universe, while Shiva is the Divine Masculine, pure consciousness. The Divine is a perfect balance of both. We will explore what it means to honor, celebrate and cultivate both within ourselves in our journey toward becoming our whole selves.

The registration link below will allow you to register for the service with your preferred email address. A service link will then be sent to that email. This service link will be active 5 minutes prior to the service. As an added benefit, you’ll be sent a recording of the service after it is done streaming!

To start your day, a meeting, or before a meal

Dear Mother, wherever there is soil, water, rock or air, you are there, nourishing me and giving me life.

You are present in every cell of my body.

My physical body is your physical body,

and just as the sun and stars are present in you,

they are also present in me.

You are not outside of me and I am not outside of you.

You are more than just my environment.

You are nothing less than my Self.

~ Thich Nhat Han

A Message from CIPL: Virtual Advocacy Day

image.jpeg

In June, many of you joined us in Sacramento to help move our priority bills along in the legislative process. Your advocacy made a real difference and together we helped ensure that faith voices were heard in Sacramento.

Now, we're heading back, virtually, to meet with legislators and their staff to provide updates on where our priority bills stand in the legislative process and to encourage continued support to get these bills over the finish line!

Please let us know if you can join and we will schedule meetings with your own representatives – so likely just two meetings. They will take place between 10am and 3pm so please sign up if you can be available during that time.

We hope hope to see you for our Virtual Advocacy Day:

Tuesday, August 11th
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
On Zoom

Whether you joined us in June, or last year, or if this will be your first advocacy event, we'll provide everything you need to participate, including training, talking points, and support throughout the day.

To participate you will need to Register here.

Please register no later than August 4th

People of faith have a vital role to play in advocating for policies that protect our communities, care for creation, and ensure a just future for all. We hope you'll lend your voice with us on August 11th.

SpiritRest Silent Retreat

SpiritRest is a facilitated five-day silent retreat for Unitarian Universalists and other spiritual seekers. Our 2026 gathering will be August 16-21 in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. This retreat is led by UU ministers Lucy Bunch, Batya Dale, Arvid Straube, and Sharon Wylie.

Retreatants meet with a spiritual director for a half hour each day. In addition to the practice of silence, there is guidance for meditation, labyrinth walks, prayer, art journaling, Qi gong, and InterPlay. There is also time for singing together. Each day closes with a vespers service at sundown.

Learn more at our website www.spiritrestretreat.com.

Blessings,

Rev. Sharon Wylie
