Enjoy COFFEE in the NEW LOUNGE!

As we transition out of our Sanctuary we’ll be inviting you to grab your coffee in the Lounge (this was formerly Childspace and is next to the administration office). We’re not finished with it, but it is taking shape nicely and promises to be a cozy gathering place. We invite you to grab your coffee and enjoy the company of others!

The Home That Love Made

This is the home that love made.

It is full of the love of all who have worshiped here; those who have celebrated and grieved here; the babies dedicated, couples married, and family members mourned here.

This is the home that love made.

It is full of the love of our children, as they learn and laugh together, and our youth, as they grow into their own sense of purpose and meaning.

This is the home that love made.

It is full of the love of the staff who have served it, full of their hopes for this congregation, their hard work and their acts of dedication.

This is the home that love made.

It is full of the love of the choir, the love made so clear in the voices lifted here on Sunday morning.

This is the home that love made.

It is full of our love: the love of this community, despite our differences and our disagreements; the love that holds us together as a people.

This is the home that love made.

Can you feel it?

We light our chalice knowing we will bring our sense of home everywhere.

Wherever we are, may love be with us always.

May it be so!

~ Rev. Amanda Poppei

Prioritizing Care, Safety, and Community Investments:

A Look at Proposition 47 and Other Rollback Efforts

Vera Institute of Justice

Friday, June 28th – 7:00 p.m. PT (via Zoom)

In 2014, California voters adopted Proposition 47, which changed certain low-level crimes from potential felonies to misdemeanors. The savings from reduced incarceration costs have allowed for over $800M to be reinvested into victim services, treatment, and prevention programs.

A new ballot measure backed by big retailers is looking to roll back key elements of Proposition 47 and increase incarceration by criminalizing homelessness and substance use disorders and increasing theft related penalties and sentencing enhancements. Over the next 10 years, the measure would cost our communities over $1 billion in funding for drug treatment, homelessness prevention, survivor services, and school-based prevention programs.

Join us and the Vera Institute of Justice, a national research and advocacy nonprofit working to end mass incarceration, for a community presentation on Proposition 47 and these rollback efforts.
