The Chalice Racial and Cultural Justice Team is hosting a potluck dinner tomorrow (Friday) night, followed by a discussion with Marcy Winograd about legislation impacting the teaching of ethnic studies. Beware: Censorship and Indoctrination

Marcy Winograd will discuss AB 715 legislation that imposes a virtual gag order on Ethnic Studies teachers.  LAUSD has even gone so far as to order teacher training on the use of “neutral terms” to describe sensitive topics.  Her talk will also address ways to challenge proposed bills that seek to conflate anti-Zionism with antisemitism. 

Marcy is a retired teacher active with California Teachers Association, United Teachers of Los Angeles, Co-Chair of Central Coast Antiwar Coalition, co-producer of CODEPINK Radio, and legislative liaison for Jewish Voice for Peace-Santa Barbara.
