SUNDAY SERVICE

Onsite & Online ~  10 am

Reverend Nica Eaton

How do we continue to get up each morning and face all the horrors the world offers, without being paralyzed by fear or despair? How do we hold onto our humanity, our joy, our love and peace amidst it all? How do we keep finding the light among all the darkness surrounding us? Join us for this deep dive into what it means to be human at this time.

The registration link below will allow you to register for the service with your preferred email address. A service link will then be sent to that email. This service link will be active 10 minutes prior to the service. As an added benefit, you’ll be sent a recording of the service after it is done streaming!

“We Were Made for These Times”

Do not lose heart. We were made for these times.
We have been learning, preparing, training for this exact era
by showing up, by practicing compassion and courage.
Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world at once,
but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach.

~Clarissa Pinkola Estés

Please email any joys and sorrows prior to service by 8 am on Sunday mornings to this address: j...@chaliceuu.org.

You may still fill out cards if you are attending in person.

Introducing the Chalice Pride Squad!

Join us for a lunchtime meet-up on

Sunday, November 2, 12-1 pm, in Room 1.

We are building a Pride Squad to organize and lead the many events and activities offered throughout the year that support and affirm our fabulous LGTBQIA+ community.

Are you a planner? An organizer? A historian? An excellent cheerleader? Whether you have space for one small activity or several large ones, you are welcome on The Squad! This lunchtime meet-up is a time to learn what we've done so far, share ideas, and find out what our LGTBQIA+ family and friends need from us now. Rev. Conejo Valley Community Action Fair

Location: Conejo Creek North Park,

1379 E Janss Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362

Date: Saturday, November 8th, 2025

Time: 12 to 3pm

Speakers start around 12:30pm

Come join us for an event for the community, by the community!

“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.” - Margaret J. Wheatley

The Conejo Valley Community Action Fair is an opportunity to come together, share ideas and discover what we care about as a community. We’ll learn how progressive organizations in the Conejo Valley and Ventura County provide information and resources that make us safe and ensure that our voices are heard. We’ll listen to speakers from local organizations, including Rev. Nica, network with our neighbors and exchange ideas that will help us bring about positive change in our community.

Join us for our annual AUCTION!

We are getting excited for our biggest fundraiser of the year - our Auction.

As always, the most important part of the event is YOU! Our Casino themed event will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Borchard Community Center (190 Reino Rd. where last year’s auction was held). This is a fun theme and you are invited to dress to the nines for this evening of  great entertainment, food and music.

Do these three things now, all at this link: buy tickets, RSVP for free childcare, and make a donation

AND…. We’d love to have some support in setting up and having things run smoothly. Please consider a donation of your time as well!

If you're feeling overwhelmed by the political climate and unsure of how to take action, you're not alone. To help sift through all of the information, the Democracy in Action Team is sending out details each week on what actionable items you can take to fight political division and its threats to equal rights, our values, and democracy. It lists upcoming in-person, local events, as well as important calls you can make to your representatives. If you'd like to receive these emails, please email Kelly Niebergall at kellyni...@gmail.com. Let's resist together.
