Cambridge 99 (Nines) are looking to recruit or train more coxes to strengthen our cox squad and support our mens, womens and progression squads.
If you're interested in getting experience with squad training and leading training sessions, developing your skills to trial next season, or looking to get back into coxing - Nines is a friendly and inclusive club with a supportive cox squad and the finest cox equipment cupboard on the Cam. More info about coxing at Nines.
For college coxes, the rules that restrict rowers from training with town clubs don't apply to coxes and our weekend morning sessions have minimal overlap with college outings, so it's a good opportunity to get some extra outings and experience.
Outings will cover a variety of tech sessions, mileage, and race pieces, giving you the opportunity to work on different skills. We tend to do more off-cam races and training sessions compared to typical colleges, e.g. upcoming tideway training weekend in Feb.
You give your availability on a week-by-week basis so you have flexibility about which sessions you take part in. Midweek evening outings are available for individuals confident at coxing in the dark (or interested in giving it a try).
If you're interested in meeting with the Cox Captain for a chat to learn more and arrange a trial outing, please contact coxcap...@gmail.com
