Dear Captains,

I hope that this email finds you well. I am the 2024 Fairbairn Secretary and would like to take the opportunity to communicate the following with you.

Key Dates and Information:

Dates of event – 5th December (Novices), 6th December (Seniors)

Entries Open – 04/11/2024

Entries Close – 18/11/2024

Start Order Published: 25/11/2024

Entry Cost: TBC, is dependent on costs of the event that are currently being finalised.

2024 Rules and Regulations:

Please read and familiarise yourselves with the attached Rules and Regulations. There have been two additions that seek to clarify any confusion from last year's event and can be found under Status (6c) and Entries (7c). The changes made are as follows: 

6c: That in the event a college enters a second boat, but does not enter a first boat, the Fairbairns Secretary reserves the right to classify the second boat as a first boat in the results.

7c: That in the event of over subscription, priority will be given in the following order (entry fees will be returned to any entry that cannot race due to over subscription):

1. Cambridge College crews
2. Oxford College crews
3. Cambridge alumni crews
4. Oxford alumni crews
5. Invitation crews

Reminders from last year

• Entries are allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you want to guarantee your crews a chance to race, enter as early as possible as the event is always over-subscribed.
• The entry deadline is FINAL. If an entry is received late, that crew will not be able to race.
