There are two open positions at my academic library (Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, KY), seeking dynamic and enthusiastic early to mid-career librarians. Please, we ask you share on your alumni, job, and/or student listservs. These positions would
be great for graduating students!
Below are summaries of both positions, plus links to the longer position descriptions and application information. Initial application reviews will begin on 20 April 2026. I'm happy to triage questions about the positions to the respective search committee
chairs.
Digital Stewardship Librarian
This role will provide leadership across the full lifecycle of collections, including appraisal, accessioning, arrangement, description, preservation, and access. Working collaboratively with colleagues across Collections & Discovery, this position aligns people,
workflows, and technologies to create a cohesive preservation-to-access pipeline for born-digital and digitized materials. The Digital Stewardship Librarian plays a critical role in advancing WKU Libraries' stewardship of distinctive cultural heritage collections
by ensuring their long-term preservation, bridging traditional archiving while transforming them into accessible, discoverable, and usable resources.
Online Learning Librarian
This role will provide leadership for the library's online learning and digital instruction ecosystem, helping design scalable learning experiences that support student success across in-person, hybrid, and online environments. The Online Learning Librarian
will collaborate with faculty and campus partners to develop multimedia learning objects and digital instructional content, assess online learning initiatives, and advance innovative approaches in information literacy grounded in the ACRL Framework.
Both positions are 10-month contract, tenure track eligible, and contribute to the university through teaching, research, and service consistent with faculty expectations.
