Hello,

We have a request from a client to have a PG cluster on OCP and have one or two hot standbies on VMs (running on VMWare).
Is this possible? How would one go about implementing that? I suppose I expose the read-write service from OCP to the VM and setup the hot standby the traditional way? Is any port other than the database's needed to be exposed?

Thanks in advance,
Orestis

Hello Orestis,

Thanks for reaching out. That's certainly an interesting use case. While we do support various standby configuration options (as described in the "Disaster Recovery and Cloning" section of our documentation, https://access.crunchydata.com/documentation/postgres-operator/5.3.2/tutorial/disaster-recovery/), a more detailed architectual discussion would best be had with broader Crunchy Data team. You can reach them by emailing in...@crunchydata.com. Hope this helps!

Regards,

TJ
