Network of Open Science Grassroots Networks

Welcome to the Network of Open Science Grassroots Networks Discussion Group!

There is a large and diverse community of networks promoting open science behaviors and culture change in different regions and disciplines.  A running list is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LNF5_bOkRV-RLIF4HYmu-gOemIa4IdfXEer89fM-Vy8/edit#gid=0

The purpose of this discussion group is to facilitate information sharing, collaboration spawning, and dissemination of best practices across this diverse community. To stay aligned with subscriber expectations, discussion and contributions should focus on open science and community-building.

As a first step of fostering communication, you are encouraged to share an abstract (150 words or less + links to more info) of your network's identity, goals, and activities.  With many networks on this list, keeping these short will make it more likely that others will actually read them.  At minimum, these posts will be available permanently on the Google Group for new subscribers to get up to speed quickly about who is on this list and what they are doing.

This will create a flood of responses that could clog inboxes quickly.  So, I suggest that we avoid lots of responding to others posts in this initial wave.  Also, you can title your post in a common format so that readers can easily sort through them for efficient inbox management.
Suggested format:
Title: INTRODUCTION: Network name, Location (if it adds more info), Primary URL/info location
Abstract of network activities
Contact info for the network/group
