The hash I get by running sha256sum on the downloaded file is:
f1b967959211c21799938dddf73d0a6d34dedc1a782b3b7de0c03ca8b4b9505e
... which is not what is shown on the web site (1ea2...).

Also, when I downloaded and installed the Python3.8 Miniconda3 for
Linux 64-bit (which has a correct hash), and then tried
    conda update conda
I got the following error message at the end of the transaction:
--------------------------------------------------------
Preparing transaction: done
Verifying transaction: done
Executing transaction: done
Fatal Python error: deletion of interned string failed
Python runtime state: finalizing (tstate=0x55e60f66c520)

Current thread 0x00007f86f659b380 (most recent call first):
<no Python frame>
-----------------------------------------------
... even though the transaction appeared to be successful.
