setting a path variable

Hi,

I'm using Anaconda.Navigator to launch the jupyter notebook (6.1.4)  and running python 3.  I need to set an environmental variable path for my program to run.

example: $DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH = /Applications/freesurfer/lib/gcc/lib.  I'm not sure how to add the variable path in Anaconda.Navigator-jupyer notebook-python environment.  Any help would be appreciated.
