Conda channel credentials

My company's conda repo needs authentication. If I put https://<user>:<password>@mycompany/conda as a channel, it will print the password in plain-text in the output, especially if a package is not found. Is there a fix for that?

I also use anaconda-project, how can I use my company's repo in channels of anaconda-project.yml without exposing the crendentials?
