Hi,

I am new to Anaconda and programming in general. I am following a superdatascience course where I am following the instruction as it is I created the virtual environment in anaconda using the yml file. The environment has been created i anaconda command prompt but I can't see that in the anaconda-navigator.

How did you create the environment? Do you have multiple versions of anaconda installed?

No, I have one version of anaconda installed.

Attaching my yml file with this mail.

I am using windows 8.1 64 bit. I saw this link on stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/43541283/anaconda-navigator-does-not-show-new-environments

where the only answer was: conda update anaconda-navigator, which I did. Initially, that commannd was not working which I made it work by following this link on stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/44515769/conda-is-not-recognized-as-internal-or-external-command

However, even after updating anaconda-navigator issue persists.

I'm asking how you used the yaml file to create the environment.

What kind of terminal (if any) were you in? Had you already activated another environment? etc

I created the environment using the yml file (shared in last mail) in anaconda prompt.

Update:

Uninstalled everything from windows, no python, no anaconda. Installed everything from scratch. When launched anaconda-navigator, it asked to update to a new version, which I did and now its working.

Earlier too, I had updated navigator through conda-prompt, but this time it worked, don't know why.
