Problem with opening the package

I downloaded anaconda for mac el captain, but when I open the package it gives me the error:

The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.)Couldn't open "Anaconda3-4.2.0-MacOSX-x86_64.pkg".

What could be the problem?

Maybe the download didn't finish or got corrupted.  Please check the MD5 sum of the downloaded file with this list: https://repo.continuum.io/archive/
You should see:

$ md5 Anaconda3-4.2.0-MacOSX-x86_64.pkg

md5 (Anaconda3-4.2.0-MacOSX-x86_64.pkg) = 51ed7f9af7436a1a23068eb00509d6ad
