Can't update Anaconda 3 (Windows 10) 1.6.9 - 1.6.12

On my home PC that only I use, not for work.

I downloaded and installed Anaconda 3 and used it for a week.  It shows updates are available and I clicked on the update from Navigator.

But the update fails, giving a CondaIOError

If I try and update Spyder from the  Command Prompt via "Conda install spyder"

it downloads all the  updates and gives me a permission denied on c:\programdata\Anaconda3

despite the fact that I made the files visible and no longer read only.

I installed  with Admin rights.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that didnt help.

Maybe I have to install  so that only I can use it

It is recommended to install for the local user only, to prevent any permissions problems.

If you want to update the existing installation instead, try running Anaconda Prompt as an administrator and running the command "conda update anaconda-navigator".

thx for your post. I tried to solve the problem with your cli hint.

But i got an error information which i can`t solve right now.

Maybe you got an idea while seeing this:

It looks like this is printing DEBUG messages for some reason, but worked correctly. Does "conda list anaconda-navigator" show that version 1.6.12 is installed?
