Are you maybe behind some firewall?
Are you able to access the URLs from a web browser?

Do you maybe have the REQUESTS_CA_BUNDLE environment variable set? maybe by mistake?
What is the output from:
$ env | sort

Thanks  Ilan

I can open those URLs in firefox on the linux machine in question. However, I can't open them in Windows using firefox, which complains about an invalid cerificate:

repo.continuum.io uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

Ilan,

Do you have any recommendations on debugging this problem? I'm guessing the problem is on my side but I don't have a clue how to determine that.

Thanks,
Jeff
