Call for Papers
The International Society for Contemporary Legend Research is pleased to
announce that the 2026 Perspectives on Contemporary Legend 43rd International
Conference will return to Lexington, KY. The local organizing committee has
planned a great week, with excursions to historic sites (with ghosts), bourbon
distilleries, music, and more. The conference will take place at the Hilton in
the heart of downtown Lexington, in easy walking distance to local eateries and
attractions. Lexington is served by the Bluegrass Airport and is within driving
distance of major US cities in the East and Midwest.
Submit an Abstract
Submissions of 300-word abstracts of relevance to contemporary legend should be
sent to confe...@contemporarylegend.org by March 2, 2026.
Presentations will be 30 minutes, 20 minutes for presentation followed by
discussion.
For those who cannot travel to Lexington, we will offer an online presentation
option. Please indicate if you intend to present remotely when you submit your
abstract. Online panels will be limited to one session per day.
ISCLR Membership and Conference Registration

membership form. This year's meeting registration fees of $160 (for ISCLR
members), $125 (for online presenters, students and companions) and $200 for
non-members include the excursion costs, refreshments on presentation days, and
