Myth vs Fact: Insight from the “telephone game.” A group of people sit in a circle. The one chosen to go first privately whispers a story to the person sitting next to them. The second person turns and repeats the story, whispering it to the one sitting next to them. The process is complete when the last person in the circle hears the repeated story. The fun of this “game” comes when the final version of the story is compared to the original version. The original story is modified, and the details exaggerated. So when we read stories of the ancient past, they may have started out as fundamentally true, but their details may be highly exaggerated … this is when a fact can become a myth .
An example of fact exaggeration is the story of the “giants” that apparently roamed the Earth in ancient history. What constitutes a “giant”? Images range from 10 to 15 feet in height. For example, the giant in “Jack and the Beanstalk” was 12 feet tall. However, in the Biblical story of David and Goliath, the “giant” Goliath height ranges from 7 to 9 feet. Since the young David was presumed to be about 5 feet tall, Goliath would truly represent a giant.
| | | According to Guinness World Records, the tallest human who ever lived was Robert Wadlow (1918-1940) of Illinois who was 8 feet 10 inches. Currently, the tallest living person, Sultan Kosen of Turkey, is 8 feet 2 inches tall. These photos show Sultan next to the worlds shortest woman, 30 year old Jyoti Amge from India, who is 2 feet 7 inches tall. Giantism is a genetic consequence and is heritable. So, a lineage of "giants" is actually quite conceivable .
However, some ancient myths turn out to be astonishingly true. This month’s video is about the ancient Hermetic Principles from 300 B.C. Deriving from legendary Greek philosopher Hermes Trismegistus, these principles focus on the relationship between human beings, the cosmos, and God - combining anthropology, cosmology and theology. The wisdom of these Principles combines a knowledge of both the material and the spiritual world.
In today’s world, the Hermetic Principles are generally perceived as metaphysical mythology … a fantasy. However, based on Quantum Physics and Epigenetics, these Principles represent a very valuable and significantly informative truth that defines the nature of life on planet Earth. In this month’s video, Alex and I offer knowledge combining the ancient Principles with modern science. This information represents a valuable resource that offers the opportunity to move beyond misperceived limitations and write new empowering stories for ourselves, our children, and the world.

I’d like to introduce you to a wonderful singer-songwriter and someone who I’m blessed to know, Barry Greenfield, who is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his RCA LP BLUE SKY. The LP features the best Musical team available in the seventies. Larry Carlton, (Steely Dan), Rusell Kunkel, (Carol King) Joe Osborne, (Simon and Garfunkel ), Larry Muhoberac (Frank Sinatra) among others.
As seen in the Record Collector (a UK music magazine), Barry Greenfield might just be the best songwriter you’ve probably never heard of. The English-born Canadian had a BBC Record of the Week back in 1970 with the Vietnam War protest song “Sweet America”, which also went to number one in England, followed by another number one in 1972 with “New York is Closed Tonight”. This productive run of form culminated in 1973 with Greenfield’s first studio album, Blue Sky, a little-known piece of 1970s folk–pop-rock that has stood the test of time lyrically and musically, a record which captures an artist on the precipice of major commercial and critical success. Except that success never came. The album was never released. A true maverick, Greenfield recorded a seminal album of the singer-songwriter genre and vanished into the ether, with all 20 copies of Blue Sky that were ever printed and left the business. 50 years later, Blue Sky is being re-released by Greenfield in light of the steadily growing attention it has received in the ensuing decades.”
