Are you passionate about supporting the people behind conservation?
Revive, the Society for Conservation Biology's working group dedicated to the wellbeing of conservationists, is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our leadership team. We are pleased to welcome self-nominations for 5 positions on our Board: President, Administrative Officer, Events Coordinator, External Liaison, and Special Projects Lead.

Our mission is to build a supportive global network that promotes wellbeing, resilience, inclusion, and connection through collaboration, knowledge sharing, research, and practical action.
Whether you have experience in leadership, communications, events, research, student engagement, fundraising, or simply a passion for supporting others in conservation, we encourage you to nominate yourself for election. We welcome applicants from all career stages, disciplines, and regions of the world.
Board overview
Revive's Board is very active. Our Officers work collaboratively, which at times involves sharing or trading off responsibilities to support one another and complete commitments. We aim to live our mission of resilience and well-being, by helping each other volunteer in a sustainable way. If you're excited about our mission and want to serve alongside others equally passionate about supporting conservation professionals, please join us!
Board Officers are expected to commit at least 2 hours per week on average in addition to up to 2 meetings per month. All Board Officers serve on a voluntary basis and terms last for 2 years (Sept 2026-Aug 2028). Revive's Board operations, decision-making and Officer responsibilities are guided by the Revive Bylaws.
You are welcome to apply for up to two Board Officer positions. If elected, you would only serve in one position.
Open positions:
President: The President oversees operations across the working group to ensure Revive's activities are advancing its goals. They lead strategic planning and annual work planning, in coordination with the Vice-President. The President works in partnership with the Financial Manager on fundraising. The President is responsible for organizing and presiding over Board meetings. Note: The President position requires 2-6 hours of time per week.
Administrative Officer: The Administrative Officer records meeting minutes, administers correspondence (including outreach and website development) between Revive and the SCB and external community, coordinates nominations and elections, maintains current agreements with Officers, maintains historical records and a roster of members, and ensures up-to-date administrative information is provided on the website.
Events Coordinator: The Event Coordinator schedules, organizes, promotes and runs virtual and in-person events. They help communicate Revive's purpose and programming to SCB and external audiences, in partnership with the Administrative Officer.
External Liaison: The External Liaison develops and maintains relationships between Revive and other professional societies, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and corporate entities as related to its scope.
Special Projects Lead: Special Projects Leads take on responsibility for ad-hoc needs or special projects responding to membership needs and Board priorities. They are flexible contributors to fill in gaps to ensure the Board remains effective and responsive to Revive’s evolving demands. Note: Up to three Special Projects Leads may be elected.
