Dear Fellow Conservation Social Scientists,
Are you ready to make waves with your research?
The Conservation Marketing Working Group is excited to announce that we are organizing a symposium at the International Marine Conservation Congress hosted by the Global Marine Program of the Society for Conservation Biology. Their 8th International Marine Conservation Congress will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland, November 13-17, 2026.
We're looking for 12-minute oral presentations on:
🌊 Theory-building and empirical research in behavior change for marine conservation
🌊 Methodological advances in stakeholder research and audience segmentation
🌊 Evaluated behavior change interventions in marine contexts
🌊 Applied case studies of conservation marketing strategies in practice
Topics might include campaign evaluation, message framing, social norms interventions, community-based stewardship, audience research with coastal communities, fisheries stakeholders, recreationists, and the broader public.
IMPORTANT: When submitting, be sure to select our symposium as your first choice: "OPEN SYMPOSIUM: Turning Tides: Behavior Change and Conservation Marketing Strategies for Marine Contexts"
The abstract deadline is approaching quicker than a rising King Tide—apply by May 15, 2026.
Submit today: https://conbio.org/mini-sites/imcc8
We can't wait to see your work in Edinburgh!
Warmly,
ConsMark Board
