Indigenous knowledge of native Australian birds is profound and has made substantial contributions to science and bird conservation. With the 'Indigenous Grant for Bird Research and Conservation', BirdLife Australia wishes to acknowledge these contributions and support the engagement of First Nations Australians in research and conservation of our native birds.
Applications for the 12th Indigenous Grant for Bird Research and Conservation are now open. The closing date for applications is 31st of May (unless agreed otherwise).
Successful applicants will be announced during NAIDOC week (7th to 14th of July 2024).

The grant is quick and easy to apply for and provides funds for a capacity building workshop delivered by BirdLife staff and $2,000 for equipment.
