URGENT: ESA bill goes to floor next week!!

Good morning,

We just learned that the Westerman Bill, the ESA Amendments Act (HR 1897), is going to the floor next week! This bill would be dire for threatened and endangered species- it would remove and weaken important provisions of the ESA.

If you are from one of the states below, please join the letter in support of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and in opposition to the ESA Amendments Act of 2025 (H.R. 1897), a bill that removes and weakens important provisions of the ESA.

The letter is specific to the above states and is open to signers who are based there and have a role in stewarding and advocating for a healthy nature in those states. Also, share it with your colleagues, and networks- it is not just for NGOs- individuals can also sign on.

This bill has already passed out of committee, and we learned today that it will go for a floor vote next week (Wednesday-Friday).

I've also attached a fact sheet that spells out how this bill will severely weaken the Endangered Species Act.
