Dear SCB Marine Members,
We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the SCB Marine Grant Programs for 2025. These grants support innovative projects advancing marine conservation education, research, policy, and Indigenous-led stewardship worldwide.
Two Grant Categories Available:
1. Education, Research & Policy for Marine Science and Conservation Grants Grant Amount: $1,000–$1,500 USD
These grants support projects in three key areas:
Eligible applicants include educators, researchers, practitioners, Indigenous groups, and K–12 school groups (students must be supervised by an adult). Priority given to first-time applicants and those demonstrating capacity to complete the proposed work.
2. Indigenous Marine Conservation & Cultural Preservation Grants Grant Amount: Up to $5,000 USD
These grants support Indigenous-led projects advancing marine conservation, cultural preservation, and the intergenerational transfer of traditional ecological knowledge. Projects must be Indigenous-led and directly connected to marine or coastal conservation, cultural heritage, or community stewardship.
Eligible applicants include Indigenous communities, tribes, nations, organizations, knowledge holders, elders, youth groups, and Indigenous-led partnerships.
Important Details:
Not Eligible: Travel to conferences, professional membership fees, or tuition
