Queridos colegas y amigos,

As the year draws to a close and the festive spirit fills the air, we at the Latin America and Caribbean Section (LACA) of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) send you our warmest wishes for a joyful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

We are incredibly grateful for your dedication and commitment to the conservation of biodiversity throughout our diverse and vibrant region. From the soaring peaks of the Andes to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, from the lush rainforests of the Amazon to the arid plains of Patagonia, your tireless efforts make every difference in these critical times.

This past year has brought its share of challenges, but it has also witnessed inspiring triumphs. We have seen communities join forces to protect endangered species, innovative conservation strategies adopted, and young minds ignited with a passion for the natural world. Your contributions, large and small, have woven a tapestry of hope and resilience across LACA.

As we celebrate this holiday season, let us remember the interconnectedness of life and the vital role we play in safeguarding the web of biodiversity. May the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and unwavering determination continue to guide us in the new year.

We look forward to continuing our journey together in 2024, working hand-in-hand to build a future where nature thrives and human communities prosper.

¡Con cariño y gratitud,

LACA SCB
