Call for Nominations to Serve on SCB LACA Section's Board of Directors

Dear SCB LACA members,

                    
We invite you to submit nominations for the next Board of Directors (BOD) elections for the Latin America and Caribbean Section (LACA) of the Society for Conservation Biology by 12 April 2018.  We have four seats that will be opening:    

• Director of Chapters
• Director of Membership
• Director of Education
• Secretary

Successful candidates will serve 2 years.  We are looking for truly committed people that are interested in enhancing Latin American and Caribbean participation in SCB. For a full description of each position, please refer to LACA’s Bylaws, which you can find at LACA’s website.

If you know of someone who would be a good candidate for one of these positions (self-nominations are welcome), please send the form by e-mail before 12 April 2018 to:

Nominees must be members in good standing with the Society for Conservation Biology as well as members of the LACA Section, and must be willing to run for election before the deadline.

If you nominate someone other than yourself, please include a letter of acceptance signed by the nominee. 

By agreeing to stand for election, nominees indicate their willingness to serve the SCB- LACA section by attending all Board of Directors meetings, which are held remotely through a virtual platform, during their term of office. Board meetings occur typically every month.  In addition, Board members are expected to be actively engaged in directing the SCB LACA through committee work.

Please indicate 'SCB LACA elections' in the subject line and be sure to state which position the nomination is for.
