Dear Counterfactual Community,
We're thrilled to
welcome onboard Renzo Guidice and Alex Caruana as new members on the Impact Evaluation Working Group Board! They will be coordinating the virtual seminar
series, and supporting other activities of the IEWG.
We’d also like to say a warm farewell to Edwin Pynegar, who has been a part of the IEWG Board since the very beginning. Edwin played a key role in building and growing the working group, and we wish him all the best for the future! We also say goodbye and send our best wishes to Beth Allgood, who was with us for a short time but made a big impact.
We'd like to draw your attention to the
first publication from
our Special Issue on "Bridging the Impact Evaluation Research Practice Gap in Conservation", hosted by Conservation Science and Practice. This piece by Edwin Pynegar, Hollie Booth, Hugh Doulton, Paul Ferraro, Misbahou Mohamed, Sarobidy Rakotonarivo and Julia Jones is critical reading for anyone considering implementing an RCT in conservation.
For more information about the forthcoming Special Issue, please watch the
virtual seminar involving talks from authors of some of the papers in the SI.
Finally, we’ll be in touch soon to see who’s attending the ICCB conference, share information among the group about presentations and symposia, and organize some social gatherings for everyone to meet whilst we're there.
Best wishes,
Tanya
