International Congress for Conservation Biology

ICCB 2025 | 15-19 June, 2025 | Meanjin/Brisbane, Australia

The deadline to submit your proposals for Symposia, Forums, Workshops, and Training Courses for the 32nd International Congress for Conservation Biology (ICCB 2025) has been extended until 31 October, 2024!

We've received some requests for a deadline extension, particularly given the challenges of coordinating proposals across different teams, cultures and continents. To support those efforts, and to ensure we can maximize submissions from everyone who wants to organize a session at ICCB 2025, we are extending the submission deadline to 31 October.

Visit the ICCB 2025 Sessions page for more on proposal types and to access the ICCB 2025 portal to submit your proposal before the new 31 October 2024 submission deadline!

We are excited to be opening the Call for Abstracts shortly after the extended proposal deadline.

ICCB 2025 will feature over 140 sessions during the main scientific program, including symposia, contributed sessions, plenary talks, and lunchtime meetings, as well as dozens of pre-and post-congress workshops, training courses, and forums.

Your contributions will not only elevate your work but also enrich the congress experience for all attendees, helping to shape the future of conservation biology.

Our conference logo, designed by Quandamooka artist Amanda Diamond of Yura Bunji Art, reflects the ICCB 2025 philosophy by including representations of the people of the Brisbane River, the three islands of Moreton Bay, and some of the beautiful native species that can be found in the immediate vicinity of the conference venue.

Our Host City: Meanjin/Brisbane, Australia

SCB and SCB Oceania are excited to welcome ICCB attendees to the capital city of Queensland, Meanjin/Brisbane. The city Brisbane is situated on the Brisbane River, flanked by the Ramsar Wetland of Moreton Bay, and has a thriving cultural scene with numerous art galleries, theatres and museums.

Meanjin/Brisbane is also known for its beautiful green spaces, like the City Botanic Gardens. Brisbane's winter climate is generally dry and mild, which makes ICCB a great time to explore the nearby subtropical rainforest of Lamington and Mount Glorious, bike around the city, or explore islands around Moreton Bay like North Stradbroke, which has a daily ferry from the mainland.

Queensland is Australia’s most biodiverse state with habitats that range from lowland tropical rainforest to heathlands, eucalypt and acacia woodlands, tropical grasslands, and deserts. Brisbane is in the middle of the “Forests of East Australia” global biodiversity hotspot with narrow range endemics such as Albert’s lyrebird, black-breasted buttonquail and paradise riflebird, the original macadamia species, innumerable orchids, over 100 species of frog, koala, platypus, echidna, gliders and many macropods. Meanjin/Brisbane is even home to a megapode that is a garden pest! In Moreton Bay there are several mangrove species, dolphins, dugongs, humpback whales and abundant shorebirds, while the Great Barrier Reef is accessible by driving a few hours north.

We hope to see you there!
