Hi everyone, 

I wanted to highlight the Impact Evaluation Working Group Events at ICCB 2025 this year so you can add them to your schedules! 

1. Lunchtime Forum: Monday 16 June 
Breaking New Ground in Conservation Science: Tackling Challenges and Building Principles for Effective Counterfactual Evaluation
Monday, June 16 |  13:00–14:00 | Mezzanine Level Meeting Room M3
  • Explore counterfactual approaches in small, topic-focused roundtables - from illegal wildlife trade, species conservation, business and biodiversity claims, and forest & marine resource management.

2. Social Event: Planned for Monday 16 June evening 
  • We will plan something for Monday evening near the convention center - details TBC! 
3. Extended Symposium: Wednesday, June 18 
Future Directions for Counterfactual Evaluation of Conservation Interventions
Wednesday, June 18 | 8:30–10:30 | Great Hall 1
  • Join us for this symposium on advancing counterfactual methods - including matching, synthetic controls, and RCTs - to assess conservation’s environmental and social outcomes. 
4.  IEWG Business MeetingThursday, 19 June
Thursday 19 June | 13:00 - 14:00 | Plaza Level Meeting Room P2
  • Come meet the IEWG Board, those interested in impact evaluation, and learn more about getting involved.
