Dear colleagues,

I’m pleased to share that the Field Museum's Keller Science Action Center is recruiting for an Environmental Social Scientist to join its Chicago Program.

We are seeking candidates who combine rigorous social science practice with a genuine commitment to conservation and community well-being. This role will lead community-engaged research and partnership development across the Chicago Wilderness region, including Chicago, Kankakee County, and Northwest Indiana. The position is offered on a three-year term with potential for renewal.

For full position details and to submit an application, visit https://www.fieldmuseum.org/landing/careers and select “Environmental Social Scientist - Keller Science Action Center”. Candidates should submit a CV/resume, cover letter and contact information for three professional references. Review of applications will begin June 8, 2025 with applications accepted until the position is filled.

Please share this announcement with anyone in your networks who might be a strong fit, and feel free to reach out with any questions.

Best,

Elliott

The Field Museum resides on the ancestral homelands of the Three Fires Confederacy: Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi. The area was also a site of trade, gathering and healing for more than a dozen other Native tribes. As someone who resides and works in Chicago, I respectfully acknowledge these ancestral territories and offer gratitude to the many Native people who live here today, as well as their ancestors.
