Dear Colleagues,

My apologies for any cross-posting.

I am writing to invite you to participate in a research study as part of my doctoral dissertation at Clemson University. I would be very grateful for your time and consideration.

My research explores how virtual reality (VR) is being used, perceived, and implemented in informal education and interpretation settings. Specifically, this study examines the facilitators and barriers that influence the adoption of VR in museums, zoos, parks, heritage sites, and related learning environments.

I am currently conducting a practitioner survey and am seeking participants who work, or have worked, in informal education or interpretation roles.

Participation involves completing a short online survey (approximately 15 minutes) that includes both multiple-choice and open-ended questions. As a small thank-you, participants may enter a drawing for one of five $15 Amazon gift cards.

Eligibility:

  • 18 years or older

  • Able to read and understand English

  • Currently working or having prior experience as an interpreter, educator, or program leader in an informal education setting

Participation is voluntary, and all responses will remain anonymous.

If you are eligible, I would greatly appreciate your participation. I would also be thankful if you would consider sharing this invitation with colleagues, education teams, or professional networks who may be interested.

Your insights will contribute to a deeper understanding of how emerging technologies can support learning, engagement, and storytelling in informal education contexts.

Thank you very much for your time and support.

Sincerely,
Allison C. Maynard
