Dear all,

We are pleased to announce our upcoming online course: Using R as a GIS: Mapping and Spatial Operations in R

Dates: 6–10 October

This course will introduce participants to the use of R as a powerful GIS tool, combining theoretical lessons with practical hands-on exercises. Participants will learn how to:

Understand the basics of GIS, mapping, and cartographic projections
Import and manage spatial data in R
Perform spatial operations and analyses
Produce and export high-quality maps in a fully scripted and reproducible way

The course is designed for researchers and practitioners in biodiversity, ecology, and environmental sciences who want to integrate GIS workflows into their R-based analyses. Prior experience with R is recommended, and all scripts will be provided.
