Dear colleagues,

I’m pleased to share our recently published paper in Conservation Biology (Open Access) on the development and validation of a standardized scale to measure willingness to coexist with carnivores (WCoEx):

https://conbio.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/cobi.70326

The study introduces a psychometrically validated survey instrument that captures both behavioral willingness (individual and collective) and underlying beliefs about coexistence. While developed and tested in the context of large carnivores, the framework is designed to be adaptable and may be useful for studying human responses to other wildlife species that pose risks to human life or livelihoods.

We hope this tool will support more consistent measurement, comparative research, and improved evaluation of coexistence interventions across contexts.

I would be glad to hear any feedback or discuss potential applications.

Best regards,
Ben
