Transmitting Science is offering a new edition of the course “Naturalistic and Scientific Illustration 1: Traditional Techniques"

The aim of this course is to introduce participants to traditional techniques of scientific illustration, combining naturalistic drawing and technical accuracy. The course will cover both theoretical foundations and hands-on practice in pencil, ink, and coloured media.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand the role of scientific illustration in research communication.
- Apply traditional drawing techniques to scientific subjects.
- Produce clean, accurate illustrations suitable for publications and presentations.
Instruction will combine lectures, guided examples, and practical exercises.
