I am thrilled to announce that the William Wingard Global Sustainability (WWINGS) Fellowship has taken flight!
This is a brand-new program that will bring on a postdoctoral researcher to work on a Science Catalyst Fund project. Our inaugural project is based in Angola and the broader KAZA ecosystem and focuses on community-based aspects of peatland conservation, stewardship, science, and engagement. The fellow will be based in Africa but will be housed in Global Science in a setup similar to our SI/TNC Sustainability Fellows.
I'd greatly appreciate your help sharing this opportunity with your Africa-based networks, collaborators, recent graduates, postdocs, and anyone else who might know strong candidates. I’ve attached a few graphics that you can use if you want to make a social media post. Please also remind applicants to apply early!
We're looking for an outstanding early-career scientist with strong social science and community-based conservation experience who is excited to work with local communities and partners to support peatland conservation and sustainable watershed management in Angola and beyond.
Job posting: Postdoctoral Fellow (IC)
Thank you all for helping get the word out. We're excited to launch this program and look forward to seeing the applicant pool come together!
