Resilience in Conservation Retreat in Sedona, AZ (Feb 28-Mar 3)
Note: This retreat is associated with the SCB Revive Working Group

Revive is pleased to share an upcoming retreat opportunity that aligns closely with our mission to advance wellbeing and resilience within the conservation community: ASU's Resilience in Conservation Retreat.

This small, immersive retreat for mid-career conservation professionals is being led by Revive Advisor Leah Gerber, Revive Care Committee Chair Olivia Davis and their team and is deeply rooted in both lived experience and research-informed practice.

Leah's work has highlighted not only the urgency of protecting biodiversity, but also the resilience required to sustain such work over a lifetime. Having experienced the transformative potential of intentional leadership development to sustain herself and magnify impact, Leah is committed to creating similar opportunities for others - particularly mid-career professionals who often face eco-grief, burnout, and despair while carrying the greatest responsibilities in their field.

Hosted in Sedona, Arizona, this limited-capacity retreat will integrate mindfulness practices, movement, guided reflection, group coaching, and peer connection. It also serves as a pilot for a larger research initiative examining how mindfulness interventions can strengthen emotional resilience, leadership capacity, and long-term sustainability in conservation careers. Participants will engage in pre- and post-retreat reflections, contributing to a growing evidence base for supporting wellbeing in conservation.

At its core, this work reflects Revive's belief that sustaining the people who do conservation work is essential to sustaining the planet itself. By creating space to pause, process eco-grief, and reconnect with purpose, this retreat aims to cultivate compassionate, resilient leadership at a pivotal stage of professional life and to foster a supportive community that endures beyond the retreat.

We invite Revive members to register by February 7 to secure your spot and to share this opportunity with colleagues or networks who may benefit.
