Dear colleagues,

Labor is a key part of all conservation activity and projects, but is largely overlooked in research on the field to date. As part of the project ‘Conservation Labor: A New Frontier in Labor Theory and Conservation Science (CONLAB)’, we are conducting a global survey of people who work in conservation, or for a conservation organisation in any capacity. The objective is to gain an overview of the type of work being done in the conservation sector, the experience people bring with them, the needs, challenges, and opportunities faced, and how all this is changing.

We are encouraging colleagues to participate in the survey, and distribute it among their networks. Note that as we are looking for people who work on the implementation of conservation in some way, academic/researcher respondents should play a role in the practical design, governance, decision-making or evaluation of a conservation project or programme in some way. The survey should take around 20 minutes, does not ask for your name, and is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. Full information, including a participant information sheet and a link to the survey itself, can be found at the link below.

The information collected will be analysed and published in research articles and policy-facing outputs. At the end of the survey there is an option to submit your email address to receive a summary of the results when the survey closes. The summary will also be published on the project webpage.

Kind regards,

Nick Harvey Sky
