Dear colleagues,

Together with colleagues from Purdue University, Brandeis University, and the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA)/Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, we are organizing an online workshop titled “Beyond the Numbers: Using Mixed Methods to Understand Empirical Puzzles from Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs).” The workshop will take place on October 17, from 9 am to 12 pm Eastern Time. We invite researchers, policy and program evaluators, and students to join us in exploring conceptual frameworks and real-world examples of integrating qualitative and quantitative approaches to make sense of null or unexpected findings from RCT-based research projects. A diverse group of scholars from multiple disciplines will share case studies from their own work, highlighting how puzzling results can lead into new theoretical insights and opportunities for discovery.

The workshop is online and free, but registration is required to receive Zoom info: https://purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ac8YavXtW12ZGjI. For more information, the workshop flyer is attached.

We would be delighted if you could join us on October 17. We would also greatly appreciate if you could share this invitation with colleagues in academia, conservation organizations, and other relevant communities.

Best regards,
Zhao
