Hi Folks,
Tomorrow is the BIG day!  The nineteenth anniversary of Endangered Species Day. This is a fantastic opportunity to let folks know about the great work your organization does every day.

ESC has events listed in every state in the country on our Event Map. If you have an upcoming event or activity, please post it so we can amplify it for our half-a-million activists!

For folks that can't make it to an event, ESC has two activities that folks can participate in:

Chalk Art:  we’re holding a nationwide, all-ages chalk art competition that anyone can participate in, from wherever you live.
Community Sciencevolunteers help in collecting and classifying data, improving the scientific community's capacity. Participation is simple, just download one of the many apps on a phone and get outside to start recording.  It's a great way for people to learn more about the species that live in their backyards.

In addition, social media is one of the best tools that we have to raise awareness of Endangered Species Day and the issue of species conservation more generally. Social media allows us to reach a wide public audience, generating publicity and public attention for conservation endeavors, and the overall importance of working to protect endangered species.

On Friday, May 17th (Endangered Species Day 2024), please post to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or other platforms and use the hashtag #EndangeredSpeciesDay and the hashtag #StopExtinction. Find sample posts and graphics on our Social Media Toolkit

Thanks for all you do every day of the year to protect threatened and endangered species and the place they call home.

Cheers,
Tara
