A quick little background....

NOAA Fisheries Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) is looking to hire a Research Economist that would be housed in the Ecosystem Sciences Division. The Division conducts a broad range of research across the Pacific Islands Region to support NOAA goals of sustainable fisheries, ecosystem-based fisheries management, habitat conservation, and protected species recovery within coastal and oceanic ecosystems. The Research Economist would conduct studies to help ensure that marine resource managers have an understanding of fishery economics and socioeconomic values associated with marine resource use and conservation in Pacific Island communities.
