The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Law at the University of Florida is inviting applications for a 9-month Assistant Professor, starting August 2018. We seek scholars who conduct research on the relationship of crime to the biophysical environment. Successful applicants will contribute to both of our programs by demonstrable scholarly expertise in one or more of these fields: Conservation Criminology, Green Criminology, Environmental Health, Wildlife Crimes, and Environmental Justice. Applicants who can also offer scholarly contributions to race-ethnicity are preferred. Successful applicants will show evidence of an ability to mentor graduate students and to maintain an excellent record of research, including the potential to obtain extramural funding, commensurate with their career stage.
