Staff Position – Event Coordinator
Human Dimensions of Natural Resources
Warner College of Natural Resources - Colorado State University

Position Summary: This position is designed to oversee the planning and implementation of departmental events, including several national and international conferences. Additionally, the position will assist in collaborative communications efforts, grant writing and fundraising efforts in support of conference sponsorship and other departmental initiatives. Human Dimensions of Natural Resources and the significant teaching and research sub-topics of wildlife management and nature-based tourism are very applied fields and best furthered through an ongoing dialogue and exchange between researchers, students and the diverse practitioner community.

This position requires excellent decision making, communication and supervisory skills. Successful applicant must be self-directed, work well on a team, and enjoy interacting with practitioners, academics, and students. The applicant also must work well under pressure and have a positive attitude and have a strong commitment to work accomplishment, a willingness to serve in a variety of roles as needed and a dedication to the mission of the department. Applicants must also possess interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills to communicate to diverse groups of both technical and non-technical audiences. Further, applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to enhancing inclusivity and diversity.

Required job qualifications:

  • Recipient must have a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Communications, Hospitality/Tourism, or related field.
  • Experience coordinating conferences, events and complex projects.
  • Experience in communications or marketing.
  • Applicant must also possess a valid driver’s license at the time of employment and ability to meet Colorado State University’s vehicle use requirements.
